As Knittel et al., (2020, p. 101) claim, “guided by the social-ecological framework and network theory” this research “hypothesized that incarceration would result in more total and new sexual partners, likely because of changes in social circumstances and sexual networks.”

Therefore, the odds ratio of 2.03 with the confidence interval of 1.20- 4.85 suggests that there is a probability that the true odds ratio would be likely to lie in the range of 1.20 and 4.85 with a 95% confidence level.
