Many companies have migrated to the use of cloud computing services for the security of their data assets. Virtualization entails creating a virtual representation of something, for essence, network, storage, and applications to improve IT efficiency, increasing business agility, and reducing IT expense. While it has portrayed so many benefits to the company, it is not without a share of challenges. Virtualization has resulted in numerous technological solutions; however, it has posed challenges for essence. There is increased VM Sprawl resulting from the uncontrolled proliferation of virtual machines in the company, resulting in wasted resources and increased vulnerabilities (Modi, 2017).
Moreover, some of the companies’ software benefits include increasing IT agility, scalability, flexibility, and, in turn, cost savings. Additionally, it increases performance due to increased workload mobility due to increased performance and resource availability. Virtualization fosters automation making IT less costly to operate and ow. Furthermore, it has facilitated simpler data management, and these companies are enjoin reduced downtimes that in the past resulted in operational losses (Mauro, 2017).
