Cell phones have intervened in nearly all areas of the present life. Cell phones are considered as part of the modern life culture. They seem to be a suitable means of staying in contact. Currently, mobile people pursue everywhere they go. Whether they visit a supermarket or a cinema, a cell phone is with them. Nonetheless, there are particular places where the use of cell phones is not just unsuitable but also prohibited. Those who use phones while driving endanger their passengers, themselves, and all other people using the road.
A cell phone is perceived as a cause of distraction to drivers. Many crashes due to the temptation to receive a call or even respond to a text have been reported. The longing and wish to answer a call while driving can confuse even skilled and knowledgeable drivers who understand and respect traffic rules. It is difficult to accept that a simple and normal call can lead to an individual’s death. The horrible truth is that phone usage while driving has greatly increased, and road accidents have also increased. Unluckily, the significance of this challenge is and will remain to be undoubtable.
Although people have developed particular opinions regarding the challenge of using a cell phone when driving, several of them are unsure. A cell phone cause distraction to the driver in these two ways; first, a cell phone becomes a surplus item in the driver’s hand. Meaning, the driver will only be using a single hand to operate the car. Second, the conversation diverts the attention of the driver. The driver will concentrate too much on the conversation than on the road. Phone usage while driving is so dangerous as it put at risk the lives of all the users of the road. Therefore, the government should come up with a policy the prohibits the use of phone while driving.
