Nancy’s Time Management Chart
This group assignment involves you reviewing a time management chart for a full-time caregiver and adjusting to allow for a work-life balance. I need help writing my essay – research paper utilize the case study below for this activity:
Nancy is one of three siblings, and she cares for her mom full-time, as her mom requires 24-hour care. Nancy’s mom requires Max A for most ADLs and personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, homemaking, transportation, shopping, etc. Nancy receives very limited help from her siblings (Jane and William), who both work full-time jobs and are able to help for a total of no more than 3 hours (3 blocks) each week between the two of them. (For a total of no more than 6 hours per week.) Other than her siblings, Nancy does not have any other assistance with her mom, as she does not have the funding or meet the eligibility requirements for other community services or resources. Nancy often feels overwhelmed, stressed, and like she simply wants to give up. She loves her mom and wants to continue caring for her, but currently has very little personal time.
Your task is to re-create Nancy’s weekly schedule to allow for more balance and time for herself. I need help writing my essay – research paper adhere to the following instructions when re-creating her chart:
1. Items that are marked with an ‘*’ are mandatory and cannot be deleted from the schedule. These items may, however, be performed by Nancy’s siblings if you deem necessary.
2. Items that are not marked with an ‘*’ are non-mandatory and may be deleted if deemed necessary. You are permitted to delete no more than 4 non-mandatory tasks for the week.
3. You should make every effort to delegate appropriate tasks to her siblings so that all mandatory items on the schedule will remain performed.
4. Additionally, when delegating tasks, you must list the person that the task is delegated to. For instance, if William would take mom to church for an hour, it should be noted as ‘Church – William’. The block color should also be changed to red to indicate that the block of time would now be free time for Nancy.
5. As a group, you will determine what would be a reasonable amount of free/personal time for Nancy over the course of the week. The instructor will look to ensure that least 16 hours per week are designated as Nancy’s personal time. You are asked to assume that Nancy must sleep each night as indicated (from 10 or 11 pm until 7 am, uninterrupted), and that the time her sleep starts cannot be changed or altered. Sleep/rest time cannot be included in personal time. Remember that the current time management chart allows for Nancy to have only 6 personal time hours over the course of a 24/7 week, during which there are 168 hours available.
6. On the blank chart, you will find an exact replica of the original chart with the text filled in, but the blocks requiring colors. I need help writing my essay – research paper be sure to make any changes that you deem necessary to Nancy’s schedule and color the blocks according the key at the top of the form. Your instructor will grade you based upon the color blocks that are reflected on your completed chart, and your failure to pay close attention to detail in this area will result in points deductions.
Upon completion, you will reflect on changes made via the Caregiver Support Plan, which will also be due later this week. I need help writing my essay – research paper decide amongst yourselves and submit only one time management chart and one support plan for group by the due dates indicated.
Good luck!
