Cybersecurity has become an issue of concern in Information Technology due to evolution and introduction of sophisticated methods. Security of the data is a major concern and challenging for many organizations. On the other hand, social media has become area that has grown and increasingly used by many people. Several people across the world use social media for various purposes such as interactions, advertising, and communication among others. Social media is a useful platform in people’s life but it is also largely affected by cybercrime (Khan and Ayyoob, 2017). Different social media provides the best services to individuals despite the increase in the cases of cybercrime. Many people are using social media and therefore it has become part of life. The main challenge is how to protect social media from cyber-attacks. Cybersecurity is critical in securing the transmission of information on social media. The major concern is the security of data and information transmitted from one person to another through social media. On the other hand cybersecurity ethics are the legitimate and social issues that arise due to cyber technology. The ethical issues involve social networking policies and other legitimate laws that regulate cyber-related issues (Khan and Ayyoob, 2017). The ethical issues have grown due to the growth of the internet and other technologies. Cybersecurity ethics allows the protection of information from cyber-attacks and provides the code of conduct that guides on how to communicate through the internet.
Cyber Security ethics play a major role protecting individuals on social media from attacks. The ethics provide the regulations and other procedures to be followed when operating on social media.
