Think about the literature review and annotated bibliography in terms of a fruit salad.

Look at an annotate bibliography of a fruit salad. The following would be your topical outline

Now let’s look at it in terms of a Literature Review. In the Literature review, you look at overall themes and group those together. Then you use the articles (fruits) to support the overall themes. So look at what a Literature Review would look like for fruit salad:

You would use the various fruits to support each of the topics but you would have multiple fruits (or articles) under each topic.
