Question description
Post responses of 150 or more words regarding the following discussion question. NOTE: ALL responses, initial and ongoing in discussion threads must be at least 150 words to be counted as substantive.Question AWrite a word essay – Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of group problem-solving approaches.Question B:Class, how do leaders influence the level and type of political behavior in their teams and organizations? Question C:Response to your question A: from Discussion Question (Explain how the differences between leadership and management affect an organization)You said, “A manager is not necessarily a good leader but a good leader will make a good manager.” I’d have to say that I somewhat disagree with this statement. You are correct that a manager is not necessarily a good leader. A manager is focused on managing his or her employees and ensuring the job is done correctly. However, the manager may not have the tact to motivate the employees to go above and beyond the stale motions of doing one’s job. Where I disagree is that a leader will make a good manager. A leader does not manage at all, he or she is focused on the greater good of the organization and becomes a trainer, a teacher, a confidant, and so much more. A leader is right there beside everyone else, doing the same jobs, using each moment to teach, but to also continue his or her own learning. When I had my first management job at the age of 17, I managed my employees, most of whom were much older than me. I spouted orders, walked around with my clip board, and made sure the job was done. However, nothing more than the assigned tasks were ever done. Later in my career, I took leadership courses. I learned so much about myself and the employees I worked with. I realized that to affectively lead, I had to show them that I was willing to do everything they did, and more. In the process, I gained so much respect and I no longer had to yell out orders. Instead, the employees would come to me asking for advice, what to do, and how they could better themselves. They saw that I cared about their well being, not just the mechanics of the company.Question D: Class, have you ever had this experience of having a charismatic leader drive too much change in anorganization or develop such an ego that he or she doesn’t listen to different opinions?
