People have their own beliefs of what is right and what is wrong, and this contradicts through different perspectives of people. Morality dictates what is right and wrong and not what is supposed to be right or wrong in our society. According to psychology, morality is about the decision we make. Honesty is a complicated topic affected by culture, religion, concepts, and beliefs. It is true, “you can’t legislate morality” according to rights against discrimination in our society, and the Civil Rights Act of 1964 in America .
“You can’t legislate morals,” education and religion play the most significant roles in helping people deal with morality issues. Regulation of morals is possible but not legislation. Honesty can be regulated through the laws, education as well as religion. Rules such as racial discrimination in America can only be followed by those whose conscience is upright. The codes cannot make a person stop racism but can regulate the racism as a behavior. Human beings have the right to sexuality; therefore, the gay community has the right to their sexuality. It is hard to change their behavior by use of the law, but they have the right to their sexual decisions. Finally, it is true, “you can’t legislate morality.”Everyone has the right to choose what is good and evil, but through the laws, education and religion behaviors are regulated.
