The IC card such as smart cards is an ISO standard related to the information and communication technology. The IC cards rechargeable cards that be employed in conveniently making payments in public transportation, vending machines, service industry by placing the card on a reader for just a second (Tomoeda et al., 2007)The card make transaction easy as one does not have to physically carry money from one place to another. Equally important, the IC cards are represented by the ISO/IEC7816 Code and it is managed by International Electronic and International Organisati0on for Standardization. The company that holds the technology will experience and enjoys a wide range of benefits from having and acquiring the standards.
Companies having the IC card ISO standard accrue a wide range of benefits. First, the new technology boosts the performance and productivity among the members of staff. The employees are always eager to implement new technologies, process and procedures to effectively meet the goals of their organization (Chang and Lo, 2005). Consequently, an ISO IC card provides improved customer service and experiences. The new technology solved the need of carrying physical money from one place to the other. This fact acquires new customers and retains the old customers thus having a wide customer base (Lo and Chang, 2007). Furthermore, the ISO IC cards and other such technologies reduce wastages and improve efficiency in the course of a day to day business operations. The certification enhances and enforces continuous improvement strategy thus progressively enhancing efficiency and operations can be implemented with ease.
In conclusion, companies holding certifications on technologies such as ISO/IEC7816 experience and enjoy a wide range of benefits. The technologies solve problems and enhance efficiency this benefiting the organization holding the certification. The organizations benefit from the increased customer base, increased efficiency, and improvement of employee productivity.
