Interview Project
STEP 2
For Step 2 of the interview project, conduct 30 minutes of intensive interviewing. You can break this time up however you wish (1 30-minute interview, 2 15-minute interviews, etc.). Then, analyze your interviews by transcribing the audio and coding the transcripts.
Once you complete your analysis, submit a 1-2 page description of your findings and their significance for your topic.
Your 1-2 page description of findings and conclusions should include:
Include a copy of your transcripts with your submission. The transcripts should clearly identify each speaker (while preserving anonymity!) and provide space for easy reading and coding of responses. The codes you used to analyze your data should appear within the text of the transcripts.

Qualitative Methods
The qualitative research project that I decided to investigate was racial discrimination. Racial discrimination refers to the prejudice against people because of their skin color, ethnicity or racial background. It takes place when an individual is treated unfavourably and unequally through being denied some opportunities as others who are found in a similar situation. Racial discrimination is relevant sociologically because there has been unrelenting racial biasness in housing, employment and service providence in both private and public institutions. Unlike in the past, racial discrimination is not easily identifiable yet is the root cause of problems associated with scientific conceptualization and measurement (Lauren, 2018).
The sampling procedure that I would choose to use was the random sampling method. Random sampling involved selecting a unit of a given population by chance where every element of the population had a non-zero chance of being chosen for the interview. I would select people to be interviewed through visiting twenty organizations in the area of study. In every organization, I would randomly select ten individuals, regardless of their position, in each company who were willing to take part in the interview.
The questions that I will ask the interviewees would consist of their address and the length of their stay at their places of residence, their ages and the roles that they were assigned based on them, their record of arrest, their national origin and their availability for different opportunities such as work places. The setting that I would choose for the interview would be a hall, where the interviewees would feel free to air their thoughts.
I would preferably have most of my interviewees to be from several racial backgrounds because being an individual that has personally suffered from the hands of a racist community, I would appreciate to receive the different ways that people have been discriminated against and help in raising awareness against the spread of the social evil.
