(I had to copy a classmates response to the question below to get an idea of what Taylor supported because I don’t have access to the required textbook, please use his response to formulate an idea of how to answer the questions above)Taylor is in favor of surveillance; Taylor feels the information that is collected from the surveillance may put the public in a comprising position. Everyday technology has been used and abused. We now have the use of HTTPS websites to help with credit card and identity theft. These websites make it clear that there is extra protection and the company will not stand for illegal activity. There has been a decrease in identity theft from certain websites but of course it has not been eliminated altogether. When I walk into a big box department store one of the first things I see is a sign saying “Smile you’re on camera” or a more serious sign with a security logo and a brief statement saying what will happen if I steal. I agree with Taylor’s article. More “Big Brother” hopefully will eliminate people’s action. The use of camera footage should be a great example to everyone that there are consequences to our actions. There is a psychological term called the “Observer Effect” it is the tendency for people or animals to behave differently from normal when they know they are being observed.
