For decades, human sex trafficking has become prevalent, affecting thousands of girls and women worldwide. Most victims of human sex trafficking and children under the age of eighteen. The brutal reality of human trafficking has affected many people leading to physical and psychological disorders. For example, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and schizophrenia. The psychological disorders are very common among survivors where most end up attempting suicide and engaging in self-harm (Hopper, 2017). Schizophrenia and psychotic disorder have been reported in most cases affecting the victim and the families. Victims who have schizophrenia refuse to take medication, attempt suicide and engage in aggressive behaviors. Violent behavior is caused by delusion and restraints, resulting to juvenile deliquency. Victims of human sex trafficking tend to lose trust towards their family, such as, ending up having feelings of social degradation. The victims go through stress-related disorders, such as irritability, anger, denial, exhaustion and mood changes.
