introduction (approx. ½ page)
In this portion of the paper, give relevant background information (as specified below) on your topic. In your introductory section, clearly introduce the focal issue, describe relevant behaviors and relationships, and include a consideration of the influence/role of culture(s). Objectively explain why the topic is important for children/youth/families.
To summarize, the introduction should answer questions such as:
· Why is (your topic) a problem or an issue?
· How does culture influence this topic/issue?
· Why is your topic important for children/youth/families?
Provide in-text citations where relevant. Additional sources (beyond the required 4 peer-reviewed articles from scholarly journals within the last 5 years) from census data or government documents can be used as supporting sources in this section.
Integrative Analysis (approx. 2-3 pages)
In this section, you will evaluate the literature critically. By integrating and synthesizing the information gathered from your scholarly references (i.e., journal articles), you will do the following:
1) Describe factors in homes, schools, and communities that are relevant to the identified issue. Descriptions must be supported with research and include in-text citations. Discuss a minimum of three factors (including at least one family factor and one school or community factor).
2) Discuss two promising strategies for intervention and/or prevention. Again, support your assertions with research and include in-text citations where relevant.
You will decide how to organize your integrative analysis. In other words, you will create your section headings/sub-headings and decide how many paragraphs you will include in each section. Carefully consider the order in which you will present information from each of your chosen articles and be sure to connect each new paragraph to that which preceded it.
Conclusion (approx. ½ page)
In your concluding paragraph(s), remind the reader of the main claim(s) of the paper and the primary points made. Provide recommendations regarding possible collaborations between two or more of the relevant stakeholders (e.g., child/youth, family, school, service agencies, community) to address the issue discussed. As always, provide in-text citations where relevant.
Annotated Help write my assignment – Bibliography
Annotated bibliographies provide brief overviews or summaries of articles related to a specific topic. Often, they are compiled to demonstrate what sources are available on a topic a scholar is considering studying. For this component, you will find, read, and create annotations for scholarly articles related to the selected topic that you have identified. Students will not need to include sources used for the Introductory portion of the Literature Review within the Annotated Help write my assignment – Bibliography .
Each annotation should consist of an informative, yet concise, paragraph or two that includes a descriptive summary of the article (which should not simply resemble the abstract) and a statement of the study’s contribution to the focal topic area.
More specifically, include the following components in each annotation:
– Purpose(s) or question(s) the authors sought to address. What was the focus of the study?
– Methods – i.e., who participated in the study and how the authors went about addressing the question(s). Who were the participants? What were the methods used to collect data (e.g., interviews, surveys)?
– Findings or arguments the authors make. What were the most significant findings?
– Contributions to the topic area. How do the findings help us more clearly understand this topic area? What are the strengths of this study? What are some limitations?
GUIDELINES
• Your paper should adhere to APA formatting guidelines and should be double-spaced, with 1” margins, and 12 point, Times New Roman font.
• All sources used MUST be scholarly (peer-reviewed journals). Note that you may use supplemental sources (e.g., government databases, .edu, .org, or .gov) in your introduction section but these sources do not count as one of your required 4 scholarly journal articles for your research assignment.
• Cite your sources such that credit is given to the original author(s). You are highly encouraged not to use direct quotes. Rather than using direct quotes, paraphrase information using your own words and cite the source within your text using APA format.
• Remain Objective throughout. There should be no reference to “I” or to personal experiences.
