GovernmentPresidential Primaries Candidate ComparisonAs we move into primaries season for next year’s presidential election, each party has a numberof candidates making the case for his or her nomination to the party’s ticket in November. Althoughthere are a range of positions on a variety of issues, Democratic and Republican candidates generallyrepresent the views of their respective parties. So that we might take a closer look at the relativepositions of each party, you will be doing a comparison of candidates running in the current primaries.To complete this assignment, you must first chose a legitimate candidate (one who has astatistically significant standing in national polls) from each primary. You then must pick 5 separateissues that are important to you and/or significant in today’s political climate. Using primary sourceevidence—perhaps a direct quotation from a speech, interview, press release, etc.—contrast eachcandidate’s position on each issue, including WHY the candidate has this position.
