The United States is a combination of various nations which are headed by governors while the State is headed by the president. The state laws are made by the independent constituent state governments, and they focus on issues of the residents, businesses, and corporations that operate within their jurisdiction. The two laws have different impacts on the citizens of the US.
The federal laws protect American nationalities by ensuring a favorable environment for living and development (Curtis, 61). For instance, the Fair Labor Standards Act facilitates a minimum wage for American workers and ensures that overtime hours are paid. It also relieves the locals from the substantial burden of taxes, which in many states is left to the public.
In a nutshell, the federal laws differ from the state laws since they are made by different branches of government. Each member state of the United States is sovereign and makes its state law according to its charter. Federal law is made by created by Congress under the constitution of the US.
