Discussion 6 | Management Assignment: I need help writing a research paper.

This is a 2-part assignment

Part 1:

Write two initial reaction posts (one to each primary question prompt) each with a 100-word minimum. The post is listed below. Both initial reaction posts must be posted by Thursday.

Culture

1. What type of workplace culture do you want to be a part of? Why? (100 words minimum)

Leader

2. What kind of leader do you want to be? What are you doing to prepare yourself to be that leader? (100 words minimum)

A) Writing has to be Original/ use your own words

B) No less than 100 words each question

C) NO PLAGIARISM!!!!!

D) Answer the 2 questions within your discussion

Part 2:

Each question above will require a response to two other students’ initial reaction post (100-word minimum each). That means 2 student responses for the first question and 2 student response for the second question. 

The two additional reaction posts (from 2 other students) will be added to this assignment on Thursday and response must be posted by Saturday.

Culture  

Monica Brooke Mullins

I really enjoy the culture at my present job.  The biggest characteristics of our culture is great leadership and making employees feel valued. My company is owned by two brothers that I believe exemplify the characteristics of a good leader.  Both are very approachable and truly want to get to know their employees.  Each day they are on-site they make sure to go by everyone’s office for a quick hello.  They ask how things are going and let you know if you ever need them they are available. They go out of their way to make sure everyone feels appreciated and valued.  I feel like this type of environment breeds employee loyalty, satisfaction, and excellence.

I would want to be part of a culture with strong leadership. In the business world, everyone is looking for strong leadership to help guide them and educate them in hopes of making themselves the best they can be. When leadership is strong, it also pushes employees to try harder because they see the leaders in the company caring the most about how the business is operating. This will keep an very positive environment where everyone want to work to achieve success instead of just simply going through the motions to collect a paycheck and then go home. The employees are what makes the company successful, but great leadership makes great employees.

I haven’t been exactly preparing myself to be a “leader” per say. I have been identifying areas that I need to improve on within my workplace, and the first step in that was locating a new job. I recently made a decision to apply to a company that values its employees and pushes for success. They encourage in house promotions and want their employees to be successful. I know that to be a successful leader will take dedication and being able to embrace challenge with a positive outlook. 

I want to be a successful leader, in the future, that has built trust with my employees and for them to be able to confide in me their suggestions or complaints. I want to be proactive in my approach so that things are done efficiently and successfully. I want to build and maintain a level of confidence that will allow me to delegate duties, without employees becoming angry with the assignment. Most of all, I want to be successful as well as seeing my employees and company succeed in all we do. 

Spencer Dalton Reeves

I would like to be the type of leader that actively seeks to understand how the organization is performing on all levels by talking to individuals as to their feelings and understandings of what they are working on. Doing this will give me a first hand perspective on how people feel about the work they are doing and how I, as a leader might be able to improve the overall conditions for both the employees and the levels of productivity. As a small time manager already I have prepared myself for larger leadership roles by trying to understand employees situations both in the workplace and at home; and have also communicated with others as to the operations of the organization and have used that information to improve the overall standing of my area.
