GoalIn this project, your task will be to create a “Conversion Factor Manual” that could be used for the types of real world calculations in chemistry. A complete “Conversion Factor Manual” will provide several examples of conversions and serve as a study guide or a reference guide for current and future chemistry students. The manual should also serve as a general reference for anyone interested in information on unit conversions and common conversion factors, therefore you should think in a real world, authentic sense.RoleYou are a textbook writer/educational consultant that offers your freelance writing and publishing skills to various companies looking to publish manuals and various informational books. As the freelance consultant, you are responsible for the design, construction, and final presentation of the manual describe in this project’s goal section. In your role, you must perform all required duties in order to get the company to sign on with your manual design. AudienceThe target audience is an audience of your peers (students in general chemistry or about to take general chemistry); however, you must please the company willing to publish your manual. Therefore, you must make sure you include all their demands and desires.SituationThe challenge involves making a informational manual on unit conversions in chemistry and everyday life; however, it can only be 10 pages in length due to financial limitations. The manual must include a cover, a reference page with at least 5 references, and a relevance page. The manual must include at least 25 conversion factors and 10 example problems; however, the rest of the pages are up to your will. Product, Performance, and PurposeIn order to compact this into one easy presentation, you must prepare one of the following products: a PowerPoint (10 slides) or a Word Document (10 pages). If you would like to use another method, please contact your instructor prior to beginning for approval. Standards and Criteria for SuccessIn order to complete a successful project, you must include at least a one-page cover that is relevant and interesting. One page must be devoted to a list of references. There must be five (5) references. You must include at least 25 conversion factors and 10 practice problems showing how those conversion factors could be used. Also, one page must be devoted to a small essay describing the importance of measurement and conversion in the real world. The remaining pages are to be designed and constructed at the will of the educational writer. They must be relevant and set up smooth transitions in the work.
