Assessment Task 2: Investigating research methods
A storyboard is a visual representation of your video’s shot-by-shot progression. It consists of a series of squares with graphics or photos depicting each shot, as well as comments regarding what’s happening in the scene and what’s being spoken in the script during that shot.
You have to design a storyboard for the scenario below using your sketching skills to visualize for a short film for children (1 minute duration).
Cecil’s Footwear
Cecil is a word that means “caterpillar.”
Bee Buzzy = Bee
Snail = Sammy Snail
Ernie is short for Earth Worm.
Slater = Mrs Smithers
Cecil’s Shoes is a story about Cecil’s shoes.
Cecil lives in a tree with a regular door at the bottom (similar to Winnie the Pooh), he opens the door, yawns, puts on a hundred pairs of shoes, stretches his legs, and wanders around the yard eating anything in sight. He notices that his shoes are a little tighter than usual and determines to find deserving beneficiaries for the shoes he can no longer wear. He runs into Mr Buzzy Bee and asks if he wants his shoes. “I’m collecting pollen for the colony and to help the plants develop,” Mister buzzy bee continues, “and I don’t need your shoes.” He runs into another of his friends, Sammy Snail. “Sammy Snail, what are you doing?” “Would you like some of my shoes?” Cecil explains. “I’m cleaning up the garden by eating rotten vegetables; your shoes will not fit my one sticky foot,” Sammy Snail explains. Then he notices Ernie the Earth Worm, who emerges from the dirt. “What are you doing, Ernie?” I inquire. “Would you like any of my shoes?” Cecil explains. “I’m digging tunnels to help aerate the earth,” Ernie explains, “but I don’t have any feet to fit your shoes.” At that very moment, he notices mother slater and her 25 children. He inquires if she would like to try on some of his shoes. She says that she requires all of them and expresses her gratitude for the thoughtful gesture.
