Behavioral and Social Cognitive Theories

Behavioral theories focus on the role of reinforcement and punishment in shaping behavior. These theories posit that behavior is learned through the consequences that follow it, and that individuals are more likely to repeat behaviors that are reinforced and less likely to repeat behaviors that are punished.

Social cognitive theories, on the other hand, focus on the role of cognitive processes in shaping behavior.
