Becoming a Nurse
The nursing profession is a field of its own. It is amongst the most challenging fields which permit you to promote the health and the well-being of the entire society. This field necessitates for kindness, empathy, and the willing mindset. Actually, nurses are the intermediaries between life and death. When a child is born, he or she may be the first person to usher or receive a newborn into the world or just holding a dying infant. With this, the field demands an individual who can cope with much distressing conditions. My decision to pursue nursing is highly centered on my passion and my traits. Since my elementary school, I have always yearned to help the community and uplift and nurse the sick. In my junior high school, I visited my aunt, Lauryn. She is a nurse at Kindred Hospital. She took me around the facility. I fell in love with the profession and also how the sick were being cared. My passion for helping the sick and the community emerged. On 3rd January 2016: 2024 – Do my homework – Help write my assignment online, during my summer holiday, I attended the First Aid Training in Florida school. Since that moment, I have been participating in providing first aid to the injured in my neighborhood before being taken to the hospital. Till date, I have helped a total of forty-one individuals. I understand the challenges associated with the nursing profession, the patience needed and also the demanding schedule. I believe doing work or an activity without passion is just like sailing in the open seas without the wind in a canoe hoping that you will set course. My passion and personal traits including kindness, working hard, and commitment are the factors I will bring to the table.
I describe myself as hardworking, kind, and having a robust work ethic, assertive and innovative, and also possessing good language skills. I relish working independently, but similarly work well with others. Also, I am proficient in English, French, and Spanish, in writing and speech. With the cosmopolitan nature of our city, with diverse individuals speaking French and Spanish apart from English, I believe that being fluent in both Spanish and French is an added advantage and would lead to the success in the nursing profession. Furthermore, I approach most extensive work assignments with an enthusiastic mindset, a healthy bout of creativity, innovativeness, and an academic or professional outlook. I also like helping those in need and staying in a clean environment. I excel in learning new techniques and technologies as need arise.
My hobbies align with the wants or traits imposed by the profession. For example, I like studying about new interventions and innovations in the field of medicine. Reading has always been part of my life. I believe, reading is essential in one’s life and allows people to gain new understand and insights into current innovations thus ensuring their success. I believe this passion for reading will aid in my professional success. On 5th June 2017, I was part of a team which helped the accident victims in Northern High Way in the city. We gave the accident victims first aid before being taken to the hospital. This is one of my greatest achievements which am proud of. It has given me great satisfaction.
I consider my choice to opt for nursing as passion centered but not impulsive. Through my experience and self-awareness, I believe it is a high time for me to pursue my passion which will help me help the needy and also continue to preserve the dignity and well-being of humanity.
