In this paper, I will discuss the significance of statistical application in health care, specifically in regards to quality, safety, health promotion, and leadership.
One of the most important applications of statistics in health care is in the area of quality improvement. Statistics allows for the collection and analysis of data on patient outcomes, processes of care, and other measures of performance. This information can then be used to identify areas where care can be improved and to track progress over time. For example, in my organization, we use statistical analysis to track patient satisfaction scores and to monitor the frequency of hospital-acquired infections. By identifying trends and patterns in the data, we are able to implement evidence-based interventions to improve patient outcomes and reduce the risk of harm.
Another important application of statistics in health care is in the area of safety.
