Leaders are expected to behaviour maturely and understand the significance of their decisions. As the CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals, Shkreli was immature and failed to act with integrity in making his decisions. He was deceptive to his followers and the customers through overcharging the price for the drugs. Leaders should act in line with solid ethical foundations and values. Honesty and integrity are critical element of promoting trust between the leader and the followers. Some of his critics argued that he was intelligent, but unfocused and immature for the CEO role.
ln addition, he was unable to get people on board with his decision and vision. As a CEO, Shkreli is expected to serve the interests of the customers and the shareholders as well. The customers are important in promoting the success of the company (Willis, Clarke & O’Connor, 2017, p.282). He did not treat recognize the significance of the customers when he hiked the prices of the new drug. This is an example of how corporate leaders are disconnected from the customers who supports their businesses. He misused his position power to promote radical pricing strategy that would earn the company supernormal profits.
Based on Fiedler’s contingency model, Martin Shkreli is bad a leader because he was only focused on making supernormal profits in the company.
He is highly task-oriented in his leadership style.

He is highly task-oriented in his leadership style. Some of the employees in the organization described him as intelligent, but they explained that he lacked maturity to engage with other people. Shkreli should have worked with the departments to conduct market research to determine the appropriate pricing for the drug.
His unethical behaviour showed his inability to form good relationships with other people in the organization. Forming good relationships is critical in helping the leaders to consult with other people (Fusco, O’Riordan & Palmer, 2015 – Research Paper Writing Help Service, p.62). lf Shkreli had a good relationship with the employees, they would have advised against taking the action to hike the drug prices.
