Also included within this article the author shares opinions on the use of technology for managing processes within the criminal justice system. 
a) How has the use of technology-aided in advancing investigative processes for mitigating incidents of criminal behavior within our neighborhoods?  Please include examples of your identified technology.

The use of technology has aided in advancing investigative processes for mitigating incidents of criminal behavior within our neighborhoods in several ways. The use of the cell phones by the public to record incidents has not only assisted law enforcement with identifying persons involved in that particular incident, but it has also aided law enforcement with identifying and locating other suspects that may have been involved in other criminal behavior. Another critical piece of technology has been the Ring doorbell camera system. This innovative system has been a game changer for law enforcement. This system has not only assisted with the apprehension of criminals, but it has also helped to reduce the amount of crime being committed in neighborhoods due to their neighbors app. This app allows for neighbors to receive real-time crime and safety alerts from each other and local law enforcement. Furthermore, it allows for users to share information immediately with law enforcement to keep their community safe.
As for social media, my agency, as well as all the local jurisdictions, is on all social media outlets. We us the “See Something, Say Something” model to get the communities to report suspicious or criminal activity. We also monitor a lot of our repeat offenders on social media as well. We can stop crimes from being committed based on the information provided by the public or the offender themselves. For example, recently an individual was on trial for murder. His sister was in the courtroom making threats to the judge on social media. One of the family members of the victim immediately took a screen shot of the posts and forwarded them to the District Attorney’s Office. Warrants were obtained for the sister and she was immediately taken into custody and charged with Terroristic Threats.
