Write a paragraph synopsis of chapter 5; The Inerrancy of Scripture
Synopsis
Chapter 5 focusses on evaluating the potential errors in the bible, which is a difficult subject to discuss as the scripture is the word of God and it should be followed without any question. The chapter focusses on the issue of falsehood and truthfulness of the language used in framing the scripture. Some of the challenges recorded in the chapter against the idea of inerrancy include faith and practice as the authority of the bible, uncommon grammatical constructions, and inerrancy neglects the human perspective of the scriptures among others. However, denying inerrancy could lead to some problems such as moral problem could undermine the true faith in the church and the scriptures.
Personal Application
4. As Christians grow in their faith, they usually tend to trust the Bible more. The biblical scriptures are the guide to all strong believers in the true gospel. Strong Christian believers definitely trust the bible more. In heaven, I will strongly belief in the doctrine that the bible is inerrant.
5. I strongly support the biblical teaching and support of the doctrine of inerrancy. I think that anything written in the bible has a reason and should not be questioned. I am not glad this teaching is there because it seems to undermine the word of God, which guides the true Christians.
6. Largely, the belief in inerrancy gives a certain level of guarantee of sound Christian life. It is because the belief gives the Christians more motivation to read the bible and follow its doctrine. I think the Jehovah’s Witnesses have moved away from the true biblical teachings and they cannot claim to belief in the doctrine of inerrancy as they believe in many false teachings.
7. I agree that the belief in inerrancy should a requirement for a person becoming a church member, Sunday teacher, pastor, and theological seminary teacher. It would make it easy to promote the true doctrine of God and true Christianity.
The Term Inerrancy Is a Poor Term. People who make this second objection say that
the term inerrancy is too precise and that in ordinary usage it denotes a kind of absolute
scientific precision that we do not want to claim for Scripture. Furthermore, those who
make this objection note that the term inerrancy is not used in the Bible itself. Therefore,
it is probably an inappropriate term for us to insist upon.

2b. Does beliefin inerrancy guarantee sound doctrine and a sound Christian life? How can Jehovah’s Witnesses say that the Bible is inerrant while they themselves have so many false teachings?
3. Do you know of any Scripture texts that seem to contain errors? What are they?
Have you tried to resolve the difficulties in those texts? If you have not found a solution to some text, what further steps might you try?
4. As Christians go through life learning to know their Bibles better and growing in
Christian maturity, do they tend to trust the Bible more or less? In heaven, do you think you will believe the Bible is inerrant? If so, will you believe it more firmly or
less firmly than you do now?
If you are convinced that the Bible teaches the doctrine of inerrancy, how do you
feel about it? Are you glad that such a teaching is there, or do you feel it to be some
