2.  Report on Specific Social Justice Issue/Major Historical Movement 

b) Student will write a research paper on a historically oppressed group efforts to achieve greater social justice (e.g., black power movement, women’s movement, stonewall and the LGBT community, etc.).  

I would like it to be about a women’s movement. The research analysis should include multiple (at least 15 from professional journals or books excluding the text book and internet sources) references from literature, theoretical perspectives, empirical research, etc. 

c) Guidelines

i) Introduction 

ii) A brief report on the history of ethnic group (i.e. their historical experiences, the major issues faced by the group, significant past and or current leaders/leadership)

iii) A brief description of current social and economic disparities in terms of education, employment, family structure, health and illness, use of medical and mental health services, etc.

iv) A detailed description and discussion of past and present oppression, prejudice, and discrimination faced by the group.  

v) Description of major problems confronted by specific ethnic groups (e.g.  

poverty, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS etc.) 

v)  Must have implication of your findings for delivery of services to members of this ethnic group. 

vi) Recommended length: 2-3 pages; minimum of 2 scholarly references  

(excluding the textbook and internet sources). (USE ATTACHED

 PowerPoint Presentation on Paper (100 points)

 a. The Learner will prepare a power-point professional presentation on paper. The Learner should assume that their audience has 

neither the knowledge of the subject, nor the implications for the social work 

  profession. 

  b. The Learner must provide a one page handout (covering the major guidelines 

of  the assignment) for every member in the classroom.
