Security is an imperative aspect of any organizational setup. Policies are introduced, while others undergo amendments to improve their efficiencies. Our organization, being an extensive one requires topnotch security measures to facilitate smooth operations of the departments. Introducing a new policy mandating employees and visitors to wear badges is a crucial and important addition to the existing security measures of the organizations. The main purpose of the policy is to increase the efficiency of security screening of employees and visitors entering and leaving the organization’s premises (Erbschloe, 2017).
The company will introduce the new security policy for the following reasons. Firstly, to prevent a potential security breach, whereby Identification badge serves as a form of instant identification, thus, restrict access of certain zones and access to infrastructure safeguarding access of sensitive information by unauthorized persons. Furthermore, it will facilitate easy employee tracking as it makes it easier for the central management to track their movements at all times. Additionally, it will make easy identification of visitors especially being an organization with many employees and visitors (Erbschloe, 2017). Without the use of identification badges, distinguishing the employees from visitors can be a difficult task causing a lot of inconveniences. Additionally, with the use of badges, will ensure employees safeguard information and not disseminate high profile and classified information with authorized recipients.
Being an international organization, implementing this security policy is likely to encounter a share of challenges such as the language barrier. However, to overcome these challenges will be to hire a translator. Hiring an interpreter will be an additional move to ensure that the visitor understanding the importance of wearing the badges. Security is still a priority; therefore, it is only essential that the interpreter knows minimum information about the security protocols in the company to prevent a possible outside breach. Implementing the use of identification badges for both employees and visitors in the organization will be a form of additional security protocol. Enforcing this policy where both employees and visitors wear badges, ensures that anyone seen without some form of identification raises security concerns, thus, potentially determining unwelcomed persons within the premises. Additionally, it safeguards the organization from a data breach resulting from information theft by unauthorized personnel. This will also facilitate access control list whereby background check is conducted for both employees and visitors before they are allowed into the organization. Since the organization is global, it will allow from central monitoring of the activities of an organization from one central point, at the headquarters and in case of any security breach instant response.
